Mogilany

The first edition of the course took place in Cracow in the lecture halls of the Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering of the University of Science and Technology. We have been hosted in the PAN's ( Polish Academy of Sciences) Conference Centre in Mogilany since 1999. Only the opening of the course, which is connected with distribution of the course materials, takes place at the University. Afterwards the participants go to Mogilany.

The Conference Centre is located in a noble antique manor house from the XVIII c., which is surrounded by the extensive park, about 100 metres far from the market square. The perfect location, beautiful interior and surroundings together with great atmosphere provided by the excellent service have additional virtues, not to mention delicious cooking, also including vegetarian food.

How to get there

The course commences on the premises of the University of Science and Technology in Cracow in building C-4 at 30 Mickiewicz Avenues (Aleje Mickiewicza 30). You can get there by bus no. 179, 501, 511 or by any tram going in the direction of Bronowice (you will need to walk about 300 meters from the tram station to the University). After exchanging greetings and registration, the participants go together to Mogilany.

If you are late , here is a brief description of how to get to Mogilany on your own.

Mogilany is located at a distance of about 15 km from the centre of Cracow next to the road to Zakopane (the road is popularly called Zakopianka). You can get there in several ways:
• by minibus from the Railway Central Station in Pawia Street (ulica Pawia) in the direction of Świątniki and Myślenice,
• by PKS bus or private lines from the Railway Central Station in the direction of Zakopane, Myślenice. Then in Mogilany you will have to walk about 700 m from Zakopianka to the Conference Centre,
• by bus no. 245 and 275 from Borek Fałęcki to the market square in Mogilany,
• by taxi - the cost is about 50 zl; it is worth fixing the price with the taxi-driver before you go.
