The "Challenges for Sustainable Development" is a major educational initiative of the Sendzimir Foundation.
Its objectives are:
- Combine ecological education with initiatives for an active organization movement for sustainable development;
- Support local communities in solving their real social, economic and environmental problems;
- Create conditions for introducing sustainability into Polish communities, enterprises and public institutions;
- Polish delegate to the land of good practices and solutions from Europe and the world;
- Involve young people into activities that aim at applying the rules of social justice and sustainable development.
Essential elements of the Project are:
- Three-week intensive course "Challenges of sustainable development in Poland", with international, interdisciplinary group of students. More information can be found on the COURSE.
- Publication of 'Challenges of sustainable development in Poland', which will be a source of knowledge for students as well as university teachers. More information can be found on the MANUAL.
- Magazine 'Applications of sustainable development in Poland' presenting: practical use of sustainable development ideas in Poland, results of projects implemented throughout the Summer school, and good examples from Europe and the world. More information can be found on the MAGAZINE.
- Educational games "Micro-Worlds of Sustainable Development", which will be available for public use on-line; More information can be found on the GAMES.
